Not everyone has access to a reliable vehicle for their Alberta road test. If you've done all your driving lessons with us — or with another school — but don't have a car available on test day, Edge Driving School can help.
We provide a road-test-ready vehicle and a certified instructor who accompanies you to the testing centre. The instructor doesn't coach you during the test, but they drive you to the centre and ensure the vehicle is properly set up for the examiner's requirements.
This service is available for both Class 7 and Class 5 road tests at Edmonton testing centres. Call (780) 710-0789 to check availability and confirm the service fee.

Pre-Test Warm-Up (Optional)
We recommend booking a 1-hour refresher lesson before your test day to reacquaint yourself with our vehicle. This can be added when you book.
Test Day Pickup
Your instructor meets you at the agreed time, drives you to the test centre and waits while you complete your road test. The vehicle is yours for the test.

Common Questions About Car Rental for Road Tests
- Does the instructor coach me during the test? — No. The examiner is in the vehicle, and the instructor waits outside during the test itself. Your instructor's role is to drive you to the centre and support you before and after.
- Can I use any Edmonton testing centre? — Yes. We serve all Government of Alberta registry testing locations in the Edmonton area.
- Should I add a pre-test warm-up lesson? — Strongly recommended, especially if it's been several weeks since your last lesson. A 1-hour refresher in the same vehicle reduces test-day nerves significantly.
- What if my test is cancelled? — Call us as soon as you know. We'll reschedule the car rental to your new test date. Standard cancellation policy applies for short-notice cancellations.
